February 24, 2026

  • Rural houses in Girona are becoming key players in the energy transition, leading the way for sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean.

Barcelona, 24 February 2026. Holaluz, the green tech company, has launched a strategic alliance with the Girona Rural Tourism Association—which represents rural tourism establishments across Girona, the Costa Brava, and the Pyrenees—to drive the deployment of 100% green energy solutions among its members.

Through this alliance, member rural houses will benefit from preferential energy supply conditions, as well as customized distributed solar energy solutions, battery systems, and electric vehicle (EV) charging points. The objective is to help reduce energy costs for these establishments while advancing toward a more sustainable and efficient tourism model.

"At Holaluz, we work to ensure the energy transition is accessible to the local business community as well. This agreement with the rural houses of the province of Girona allows us to support a key regional sector in reducing their energy costs and adopting green energy solutions", says Carlota Pi, CEO and co-founder of Holaluz.

Headquartered in Barcelona, Holaluz drives the transformation of the Spanish energy sector through a model based on 100% renewable energy and the extensive use of technology and data. The company helps businesses and individuals reduce their electricity bills and carbon footprints while accelerating the global energy transition.

For the Girona Rural Tourism Association, this agreement is a pillar of its strategy to promote responsible, efficient tourism that is committed to the region, aligning with the sustainability values that define rural tourism in the province.

The agreement is already in effect, and member establishments can obtain information regarding the preferential conditions through the association’s standard communication channels.
